Bayelsa Guber: Jonathan, PDP BoT Upturn Expulsion Of Party Members

The former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan and the members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustee led by the acting chairman, Dr Bello Haliru Mohammed, yesterday met in Otuoke in Bayelsa State and upturned the decision by the state chapter of the party to suspend and expel some party members over alleged party activities.

Leadership gathered that though the meeting was held in the country home of President Goodluck Jonathan, amidst tight security,it was peaceful and attendance was strictly on membership of the board of trustee.
Those in attendance at the meeting include the acting chairman,Dr Haliru Mohammed Bello,the secetary of the BOT,Senator Walid Jibril,the former governor of Eboyi State,Senator Sam Egwu, Dr Cairo Ojuogboh, and Senator Stella Omu.
Some loyalists of the sanctioned party leaders including the embattled chairman of the PDP in the state, Col. Sam Inokoba, claimed that the state governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson, the chairman of the state reconciliation committee and the first executive governor of the state,Chief D.S.P Alameiseigha and other party members were barred from attending the meeting due to non-membership of the party’s board of trustee.
It would be recalled that less than 48 hours to the arrival of President Goodluck Jonathan to Bayelsa after his six years service to the nation,the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expelled nine of his loyalists from the party over anti-party activities in the last general elections.
PDP accuses Buhari of plans to impose communist regime
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday accused President Muhammadu Buhari, of planning to illegally impose a communist economic regime on Nigerians, stressing the the recent foreign exchange transaction restrictions by this government were illegal, unlawful and void.
The party while stating that the delay in forming an economic team three months into this administration was leading the country into economic quagmire and doldrums, alleged that Buhari has plans to unlawfully repeal the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Monitoring And Miscellaneous Provisions Act and replace it with a unilateral imposition of new regulations.It stressed that the recent series of bans amounted to complete clampdown on free trade.
